He found it inside the walls of a maximum-security prison. For five years he walked in each week to teach leadership to men, many of them serving long or even life sentences. Up close, he saw the weight of America's incarceration crisis firsthand, more than two million people behind bars, and the damage rippling outward across generations, brothers, sons, and whole families, repeating itself.

But he saw something else, too. He watched men with every reason to give up rediscover their purpose, embrace their value, and step into mentorship and teaching roles, even from within their confinement. It became undeniable to him: if purpose can take root there, it can take root anywhere.

His devotion is simple and stubborn. Keep showing up. Keep putting books and discipleship into the hands of the men the world wrote off. What started behind the walls became a movement far beyond them. Forty-plus years of business and ministry all point to the same conviction: a man doesn't need to be perfect to lead. He just needs to be willing.
